HISTORY

CC&N became a reality as a result of timing and industry circumstances.  Dick Hettwer along with Tom Greuel and Jim Wegner - three career veterans of the telephone industry - saw an opportunity in the 1984 divestiture of the Bell system and the transfer to AT&T. Dick comments, “To be honest, we felt the AT&T corporate structure that was evolving out of the divesture had sacrificed the business principle that had always been most valuable to us personally; a strong focus on customers. We had always been part of service groups working onsite, striving to meet or exceed customer timelines and expectations. The three of us had always been customer-focused, deriving our greatest job satisfaction out of establishing strong ties with satisfied customers."

And so, with “Customer Focus” as the guiding principle, CC&N (Communications, Cabling & Networking, Inc.) was legally founded in October of 1985 and opened for business January 1, 1986.   This year and throughout 2011, CC&N is celebrating it's 25th Anniversary of successful growth.

Citing Dick Hettwer’s perspective, "I always believed that if we make customers successful, they will make us successful by continuing to use our services and products. I think our success resulted, in large part, from the CC&N policy of always telling customers the honest truth.  We lost a few accounts because of this, but in the long run, customers found their way back to us after experiences with competitors. In summary, honesty and integrity are traits that are not for sale at CC&N, regardless of the business outcome."

Growth through Employee Ownership
Our business has grown steadily, due in no small part to the efforts of our many hard-working employees. To reward them for making the company a strong success, and give them the opportunity to grow the business further, CC&N established an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) in 1995. In 1999, the final ESOP transaction occurred, and CC&N became a 100 percent employee-owned business. We are proud to say that the CC&N share price has increased every year through 2009, and see no reason why this trend won’t continue.  Currently, despite a challenging economy, CC&N has great financial stability.

In February 2010, CC&N was voted Wisconsin’s ESOP 2010 Company of the Year by the Wisconsin chapter of the ESOP Association.  In 2007, CC&N was voted Waukesha County Business of the Year.

Multi-location, Multi-product Solutions
CC&N's growth has been in both building a customer base of small to medium-sized businesses, as well as focusing on unique ways to meet the needs of large regional, national and global enterprises.  In addition to our corporate headquarters in Pewaukee, Wis., CC&N has offices in Appleton, Racine/Kenosha and Madison, and we provide support for northwest and north central Wisconsin as well.  Our business focus has expanded from cabling infrastructure and managed staffing solutions to include six additional Centers of Expertise: Security Access Control and Surveillance, Wireless Solutions, Voice Communications and Unified Messaging, Data Networking, Digital Device Management, and Network Monitoring.
